The Heritage Education Schools Outreach Programme aims to grant learners an opportunity to learn about their heritage and culture as a tool for nation building. In this annual national schools project for Gr. 8 to Gr. 11 learners, they are required to do research and give a 20 minute presentation on topics such as “Climate Change” and “Using Heritage as a Tool to Solve Social Issues”. Four learners of the Kimberley Technical High School won gold, and will represent the Northern Cape at a week-long heritage camp in October at the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Free State. There they will experience nature and cultural heritage. With headmaster Micheal Ludick are from left Megan Lawrence, Avumile Aarens, Sibusiso Mazabane and Uwami Khumalo.
