Despite a chilly morning, more than 630 participants turned out to take part in the Sol Plaatje University’s (SPU) 11th Birthday Colour Run on Saturday, 31 August.

Participants of all ages and from all over the province and beyond took on the 21,1 km, 10 km or 5 km event in a family-friendly atmosphere.

This event not only celebrates the SPU’s birthday, but is also a reflection of its commitment to promoting wellness and healthy living, as well as community engagement, solidifying the SPU’s role as an integral part of the region.

The first runner to cross the finishing line was in the 10 km race, arriving ahead of the 21,1 km runners who had started earlier.
