Numerous suspects were arrested during an operation in the Frances Baard District over the weekend.
Criminal activities in Roodepan, Pampierstad, Hartswater, Jan Kempdorp, Warrenton, Barkly West, Galeshewe, Kagisho, Modderriver and Kimberley were targeted.
According to Capt. Olebogeng Tawana, police spokesperson, compliance inspections were conducted at 110 liquor outlets, 129 houses were raided, 153 vehicles were inspected, 15 dangerous weapons were seized, and numerous fines were issued to motorists and residents who consumed alcohol in the streets.
In addition, mandrax tablets were found in the possession of a couple at a tavern in Pampierstad, and police arrested a Nigerian national and a South African citizen upon confiscating more than 100 mandrax tablets, crystal meth, a suspected stolen laptop, cellphones and money believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
Two men and a woman were also arrested in Roodepan for the possession of mandrax tablets, and drug dealing suspects were apprehended in Galeshewe and Kagisho. Dagga plants in Roodepan were also destroyed.
