Giancarlo van der Merwe, a learner at Curro Kathu, was chosen by the Imbewu Foundation to participate in the Buca International Music Science Energy Engineering Fair (Imsef) 2020 from 29 September to 4 October in Izmir, Turkey. Giancarlo’s project Sole Solar Heater was registered to participate in the Engineering and Energy category, but due to current Covid-19 international travel restrictions, it might not be possible to participate in the fair.
