The teams campaigning in the Sol Plaatje Masters Football League have already locked horns a few times since the beginning of the month.
In matches on Sunday, 7 August, Diamond Boyz beat Newtown Masters by 7 – 0; and Macarena Masters beat Force Masters by 5 – 0.
On Tuesday, 9 August, a friendly match was played and Tigers Masters drew 1 – 1 with Diamond Boyz, with a goal from Josia Williams for Tigers, and Donald Porto Mojaki scoring for Diamond Boyz.
On Sunday (13/08) teams met at the Donkerhoek Ground.
In the first match Phutanang Masters beat Chippa Masters by 5 – 2, after leading by 2 – 0 at half time with goals from Dezil Slamat and Dawid Seekoei. In the second half Chippa got two goals from Kagisho Phepheng and Eric Halata, taking the score to 2 – 2. Phutanang’s Tebogo Tshite and Michael Schalk Seekoei then scored, bringing the final score to 5 – 2.
n the last match, Crusaders beat Newtown Masters by 2 – 1 after being behind by 0 – 1 at half time. In the second half, veteran player Piet Tlhatswane scored both goals for Crusaders. The first-half goal for Newtown was scored by Clifford Longane.
