Brig. Lindikhaya Lamoen was appointed as the new Northern Cape head for Crime Investigation Services.

His appointment has been effective since 1 November, and Lamoen will oversee the functioning of the detective service throughout the Northern Cape.

On 6 November, the provincial commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lt. Gen. Koliswa Otola, accompanied by two of her deputies, Maj. Gen. Henriëtte de Waal and Maj. Gen. Luntu Ngubelanga, conferred the new epaulettes on Lamoen in the presence of senior managers.

Lamoen joined the South African Police Service (Saps) in 1994 and has a wealth of experience in policing and the detective environment. He holds a national diploma and a BTech degree in the field of policing. He has also attended and qualified in a number of courses presented by the police.

Lamoen will be in a position to share his knowledge and experience with his juniors and external roleplayers in the detective environment, said Lt. Col. Thabo Litabe, spokesperson.

His appointment serves as an inspiration for many members within the police, and is expected to boost the work done by the detectives.
