Junior Kettledas, first rugby team player of the Northern Cape High School (NCHS) in Kimberley, heads for the try line during the 14th Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival. With teams taking part only on invitation, the festival is a thrilling match-up between some of the country’s top-ranked rugby schools. This year the United Kingdom’s (UK) current ACE League champions, Hartpury College, also took part. The performance of NCHS was described as “played with huge heart”. It was the sixth year that NCHS was invited. Deon Carney, director of rugby at the school, said it was a very strong tournament, which offered excellent exposure. NCHS lost the three matches the team played: 19 –31 against the Westville Boys’ High School
