Remarkable results were achieved by two members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Northern Cape, who participated in the National Practical Pistol Shooting Championship.
A total of 106 members from across the country competed in various categories, showcasing their skills in precision shooting during this championship from 9 to 14 March in Nelson Mandela Bay in the Eastern Cape.
Practical pistol shooting enhances marksmanship, discipline and focus, which are critical competencies that contribute to accuracy and effectiveness in high-pressure situations, commented Lt. Col Sergio Kock, police spokesperson.

Lt. Col Ralda Breedt of the Northern Cape team was announced as the winner in category C (women).
She also achieved an overall second place in the women’s category, and a gold medal in the team event.
In stage rankings, she received a second place in five stages, and a third place in one stage.
She was also selected for the SAPS National Team.
WO Neo Mosienyane received a gold medal in the team event, and got recognition by earning marksman status.
Also, Breedt and WO Bakkies Breedt served as police range officers throughout the championship.
