Junior Oliphant from Roodepan in Kimberley has received an invitation to participate in an art exhibition in Berlin, Germany.
The exhibition, ACT 2, takes place from 7 March to 5 April at the Galeria Azur in the city. In a letter from the gallery in Berlin, Virginia Vanni wrote that they have “carefully reviewed his portfolio and are impressed with the artistic merit and unique perspective evident in his work”.
Vanni mentioned the curatorial team was particularly drawn to Oliphant’s The Messiah Complex and Children of the San VI – A Travelers Journal due to its distinctive artistic vision and creative approach, which align with the thematic focus of the exhibition.
“His presence is essential to contribute to the success of the exhibition, and to add a valuable dimension to the overall artistic experience for visitors,” she wrote.
Last year two of his works were selected for exhibition in London, an event he was able to attend with the help of sponsors. He also held a fundraising art exhibition.
To raise funds to cover his travel expenses to Germany, Oliphant offers to exchange his services such as doing murals, photography, tattoos and paintings. Dial 065-652-2716 or find him on Facebook and Instagram.
