Trucks are common on the roads, and Pieter Vermeulen, CEO of Crossroads Distribution, offers tips on sharing the road with trucks:

  • With trucks, there are areas where the driver cannot see you. Avoid lingering next to a truck.
  • Leave plenty of room between your car and the truck when it turns.
  • Do not tailgate a truck. If you need to pass it, do so on the driver’s side. Make sure to have a clear view ahead.
  • Wait until you see the entire front of the cab in the rear-view mirror before merging.
