The emphasis of crime statistics is on the cases that are being reported, and the Tears Foundation is of the opinion that only one in nine violent crimes against women and children are actually reported.
Tears is a non-profit organisation that assists victims of gender-based violence 24 hours a day, seven days a week – regardless of religion, age, gender or location.
Tears calls on those being abused, or those who know about such a person, to dial 010-590-5920 or write to info@tears.co.za.
