Police in Kakamas have asked members of the public to help locate a man in connection with an alleged rape case.
On Saturday, 9 May, around 18:30, a 34-year-old woman was on her way home from Kakamas in the direction of Alheit.
She was walking alone. When she passed the industrial area, she noticed a man following her.
He allegeldy grabbed her from behind, dragged her into the bushes, threatened her with a knife and raped her.
He allegedly attempted to rape her again later, but she managed to escape and ran away after which a vehicle stopped and helped her. The rapist allegedly ran away.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in Kakamas obtained a facial composition of the suspect and requests the assistance of the community in identifying the suspect.
At the time of the alleged rape the suspect was wearing a blue long sleeve T-shirt and track pants.
He is approximately 1,7 m tall. He speaks both Afrikaans and English.
