The winners in an annual Northern Cape pageant were recently crowned in Upington.

Each year, as part of the Mzantsi Pageants, provincial pageants take place and the Northern Cape pageant was held on 24 September.

Through this pageant, the search is on for those with leadership skills, a dynamic personality, good communication skills and confidence.

Modeling experience is not a pre-requisite participants need to be concerned about.

The pageant’s judging criteria includes personality projection, confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills and natural exuberance, beauty and outfit.

Mrs Northern Cape 2002-’23, Jo-Mari Becker, promises that all the senior winners will be very active in the community.

Becker also won the categories of debutante queen, philanthropic queen, Mrs Personality, best interview and public choice award.

Other pageant categories are:

Cute Missy Northern Cape (NC) 2 to 3 years;

Tiny Miss NC 4 to 6 years; Little Miss NC 7 to 9 years;

Pre-Teen Miss NC 10 to 12 years;

Junior Teen Miss NC 13 to 15 years;

Teen Miss NC 16 to 19 years;

Miss NC 20 to 29 years;

Tiny Mr NC 4 to 8 years;

Pre-Teen Mr NC 9 to 12 years;

Teen Mr NC 13 to 19 years; and

Mr NC 20 to 29 years.
