Dorothy M, a gospel singer from Ritchie in the Northern Cape, was announced as the Best Female Artist for 2024 during the Ukonukamva National Gospel Music Awards.
This event took place on 7 December in Cape Town.
Dorothy Mazingane, with the stage name Dorothy M, thanks the office of the premier for sponsoring her flight, and the Department of Sports, Art and Culture for sponsoring her accommodation in Cape Town for the award-giving ceremony.
On her Facebook page she also thanks everyone who supported her in different ways.
“Never stop doing good, even to others.
“I appreciate you and I’m very proud to be a daughter of the Northern Cape,” she wrote.
In July she was honored with a honorary doctorate degree for her 30 years in the gospel music industry.
She received her degree from The Global Bible College – School of Apologetics and Theology.
Last year in December, Dorothy M was presented with a national award as the Best Influential Gospel Musician for 2023.
Among others, she released several albums and received many other awards in different categories over the years.
Dorothy M started singing in the church choir at the age of 13 years.
