Four Northern Cape archers were part of the South African team that competed at the Africa Genesis Archery (AGA) Federation Tournament hosted by AGA Namibia in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Karin Bester, Annemarie de Greeff, Dawid de Greeff (development coach) and Fathima Mustapha (development team) were part of the South African team competing in the tournament from 22 to 24 August, with teams from Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe taking part.
The South African senior team won gold in the bull’s eye, 3D, and overall categories. The juniors claimed gold in bull’s eye, 3D, and overall. The development team received bronze in bull’s eye, and silver in 3D and overall.
South Africa won, with Namibia second, and Botswana third.
The Federation Tournament is presented every second year, while the World Tournament is presented in the alternative years. The 2025 AGA World Tournament will also take place in Namibia.
- From 25 to 28 September, AGA’s national archery tournament is taking place at 10 Anti-Aircraft Regiment at Diskobolos, Kimberley.
- Members of the public are welcome to attend. Doors open at 07:30 and a R10 entry fee is payable.
