Two waste trucks were recently donated to the Gamagara Local Municipality by Assmang Khumani Iron Ore Mine.

This donation will provide much-needed support for waste management and collection in the region as the municipality faces challenges with waste management and slow service delivery.

This is due to rapid development and increased household numbers. The donation of the trucks with the implementation of the municipality’s dedicated waste collection routes, will alleviate these challenges and improve the overall quality of life for residents in the area.

Mayor Johannes Roman expressed his gratitude for Khumani Mine’s ongoing support and partnership with the municipality.

During the event, Boitumelo Seboko, manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Khumani Mine, shared her excitement regarding the positive environmental impact these trucks will bring to the community.

Seboko anticipates that these trucks will empower the municipality to manage waste more effectively and efficiently, thereby providing dependable service to the community.

This donation underscores Khumani Mine’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community welfare.

The partnership between Khumani Mine and the municipality also highlights a shared vision for sustainable development and positive environmental impact.

Khumani Mine extends its gratitude to all stakeholders involved, and stated through collaborative efforts it will work towards enhancing the well-being of the community and promoting environmental stewardship.
