This stylish key holder helps to create functional drop zones that will keep you organised and out the door faster every morning.
Requirements:
- 1 piece of pine shelf, 18 mm x 610 mm x 1 800 mm
- 1 piece of pine shelf, 22 mm x 69 mm x 1 800 mm
- Offcut hardboard 3 mm x 200 mm x 600 mm
- Hand drill
- 3,5 x 16 mm and 3,5 x 40 mm chipboard screws
- Drill bit (star point)
- Jigsaw
- Varnish or stain
- Blackboard paint
- Paintbrush
- Wood glue
- Pencil
- Tape measure
- P100 sandpaper
- 7 screw in hooks
- 2 clips (not at Lumber City)
Step by step:
) Measure, mark and cut the following measurements. From the pine shelf, 1 piece of 18 mm x 610 mm x 1 000 mm; 1 piece of 22 mm x 69 mm x 300 mm; 2 pieces of 22 mm x 69 mm x 290 mm; and 1 piece of 22 mm x 69 mm x 344 mm.) Sand the wood until it has no splints.
- Take the hardboard and paint on the smooth side with the blackboard paint.
- Put glue on the non-painted side of hardboard and place on top in the left side corner of the 18 mm x 610 mm x 1 000 mm piece. Drill one 3,5 x 16 mm screw in each corner of the hardboard.
- Measure on the right-side corner, but on the bottom to 200 mm and make a mark.
- Take the 22 mm x 69 mm x 344 mm piece, put glue on one of the 22 mm sides and place on the 200 mm mark.
- Turn the board around and drill one 3,5 x 40 mm screw through each side of the 22 mm x 69 mm x 344 mm.
- Put glue on the two 22 mm x 69 mm x 290 mm pieces, but on the 22 mm sides. Place the two 22 mm x 69 mm 290 mm on each side of the 22 mm x 69 mm x 344 mm piece. Drill two 3,5 x 40 mm screws in each 22 mm x 69 mm x 290 mm piece, but also at the back of the 18 mm x 610 mm x 1 000 mm piece.
- Turn the board around, put glue on the 69 mm side of the 22 mm x 69 mm x 300 mm piece. Place the piece on top of the two 22 mm x 69 mm x 290 mm and 22 mm x 69 mm x 344 mm pieces and drill one 3,5 x 40 mm screw through each side of the 22 mm x 69 mm x 300 mm piece.
- Take the hook screws, space them at the bottom of the 22 mm x 610 mm x 1 000 m piece and screw them into place.) Place the two clips underneath the hardboard and drill one 3,5 x 16 mm screw through each hole of the clips.
- Varnish or stain and let dry.
