The Newtown Legends Football Club, with members of its supporters club, recently reached out to the aged in Galeshewe, Kimberley.
On Mandela Day, which was celebrated on 18 July, they donated food parcels to the elderly. They also cleaned the premises and repaired taps and showers.
“We spent the whole Mandela Day with the elders, even enjoying meals with them. They where so happy. It was a lovely day,” a Newtown-member said.
