The police in Kimberley are seeking the assistance of the community in tracing two suspects in two separate rape cases that took place in Galeshewe and Roodepan.
Both cases are being investigated by the Galeshewe Family, Child and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
- In the first case, the 25-year-old female victim was raped at the back of Club Vibes in Madalane Street in Galeshewe on Sunday, 24 July.
According to Sgt Timothy Sam of the Galeshewe Communication section, preliminary investigations indicate that an unknown male, who was walking a dog at the time, approached the victim and threatened to set the dog on her.
The victim complied as she was afraid of the dog.
The suspect is light in complexion, slender-built with gold teeth and speaks Afrikaans.
The police are requesting the public to come forward with information that may assist with the investigation of the case and lead to the apprehension of the suspect.

- In the second case, an 18-year-old female victim was raped in Starling Street in Roodepan on Wednesday, 10 August.
Sam said in a press release, preliminary investigations indicate that an unknown male approached the victim in the street whilst she was waiting for a taxi. He forcefully grabbed her by the wrist and instructed her to go with him to the stairway of one of the flats and threatened her with a firearm.
The victim was raped until she was rescued by a “friend” of the suspect.
The suspect is a white male, light in complexion, slender to medium build, with black hair. He also has a moustache and a full beard. He is a heavy smoker and speaks Afrikaans.
The police are requesting the public to come forward with information that may assist with the investigation of the case and lead to the apprehension of the suspect.
