A first-ever World Boxing Federation (WBF) Africa Light Heavyweight tournament is scheduled to take place in Upington. This event is presented by Boxing5.promotion, in conjunction with Fight Arts Promotion.

Russle Bindeman, promoter of Fight Arts Promotion, says Upington has never hosted a WBF tournament before.

Spectators and combat sports enthusiasts can look forward to seeing Northern Cape fighters in action against those from other provinces.

A total of 44 rounds will take place, with champion Bonginkosi Nhlapo squaring off against Jimmy Mabundji in a ten-round bout for the WBF Africa Light Heavyweight title.

This tournament, titled “First Time Ever,” takes place from 17:00 on Saturday, 25 October, at the Desert Palace Casino in Upington.
