The rugby team of the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) emerges as Frances Baard regional league winners against last year’s champions, the Kimberley Rugby Club (KRC), by beating them 36 – 26 on Saturday, 15 June.
This regional league final took place at the KRC’s field in Diamond Park, and this match was preceded by other matches.
In the Frances Baard Region’s third place playoff, the Hartswater Rugby Club claims a victory over the Prieska Rugby Club with a final score of 55 – 26.
In a first division clash, the Griquas’ women’s team emerged victorious over the Puma’s women team with a score of 27 – 14.
The super league semifinal is played on Saturday, 22 June, at 16:00 between the Young Tigers and the KRC at Hantam Park in Calvinia.
