Athletics Griqualand West (AGW) recently rewarded athletes at its annual awards ceremony, giving recognition to achievers of the year in different categories.

Category winners, as announced during this event on 10 November in Kimberley, are as follows:

Cross country
) best cross country primary school male: Anton Ndungu; ) best cross country senior male: Shadrack Selaledi; and ) new-comer cross country male: Lincoln Louw.

Road running
) road runner male of the year: Obakeng Riet; ) road runner female of the year: Kebogile Motshabi;) best improved road runner male: Arthur Jantjies; and ) best improved road runner female: Anel Viljoen.

Track and field
) track and field U16 male: Tumisho Nteeo;) track and field U16 female: Danika Roets; and ) track and field youth male: Robyn-Lee Eland.

The winner for the AGW Club of the Year is Kgosi Galeshewe Athletics (KGA). The other nominees in this category were the Kimberley Harriers Running Club and the Teemaneng Running Club.

The winner for the AGW Athlete of the Year is Danika Roets for her stellar performance in track and field, winning a gold medal and becoming a national champion.

The winner of the AGW School of the Year is the Bongani Primary School in Douglas.

Several athletes also received AGW colours blazers. The recipients are:
