Kumba Iron Ore’s Kolomela Mine recently donated a grader, with the approximate value of R4 million, to the Tsantsabane Municipality in Postmasburg. The grader will be utilised to scrape gravel roads and clear rough soil surfaces in informal settlements and rural communites, and to maintain the roads. “Our communites matter to us and we understand the social and infrastructure challenges that Postmasburg experiences. Our hope is that the grader will add value to the community and we will continue working together for the betterment of our community,” said the chief executive officer (CEO) of Kumba Iron Ore, Mpumi Zikalala. He promised Kumba would pull all community stakeholders together to drive an ambitious Postmasburg renewal project that will seek to give the town an infrastructre facelift. The mayor of Tsantsabane, Helena English, accepted the grader and committed to a proper maintenance and service plan for the grader. At the recent handing over of the grader are from the left Tebogo Mushi (general manager of Kolomela Mine), De Young Mienies (Tsantsabane Municipality), Zikalala, English, Themba Mkwanazi (CEO of bulks at Anglo American) and George Keorometswe (Tsantsabane Municipality).
