To help ensure the safety of learners, Konkoonsies Solar Power donated more than 500 masks to learners across three schools in Pella and Pofadder.

In a coordinated effort with the Department of Education’s Namaqua district office, based in Springbok, the solar plant also provided an extensive range of sanitisers for the schools.

“We see it as critical that learners in our communities are as safe as possible, especially as Covid-19 infections are increasing in the Northern Cape,” says Tsholofelo Moote, economic development practitioner at Konkoonsies Solar Power.

The Pella Primary School in Pella, as well as the Boesmanland High School and the Francois Visser Primary Scool in Pofadder, were the beneficiaries of this donation.

  • The solar plant recently funded personal protective equipment for distribution at the Pofadder Community Health Centre, Pofadder Clinic, Onseepkans Clinic and the Pella Clinic, which see an average of 85 patients per day.
