The Staats Pro20 Night League, presented by the Staats Primary School in Kimberley, is currently taking place after the event commenced in middle September, to be concluded on 4 and 5 November.

At the jersey handover ceremony in September, all participating teams received their cricket jerseys from sponsors.

The Staats U13 team has played five matches to date.

Staats played their first match against Yorkshire Hub and lost by 6 runs.

Eagan Jacobs delivered a man-of-the-match performance, scoring a quick 30 and taking one wicket for 12 runs in 4 overs.

During the second match the boys suffered a defeat against the Eureka Primary School. MC Blignault took 3 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.

In the third match against HC Rose Hub, the boys bounced back, claiming a 173-run victory. The boys performed exemplarily, namely Daniel Feder 54(34); Eagan Jacobs 22(16); and Landon Titus 31(37) not out. This is a very special victory as Landon is still in the U11 division.

With the ball, MC Blignault took 3 wickets for 5 runs from 1.5 overs.

The boys claimed another victory after beating the Vooruitsig Primary School by 78 runs. Two batters gave exceptional performances, namely Eagan Jacobs 75(56) not out; and Heath Pinetown 38(47). With the ball, Chris van Wyk claimed 2 wickets for 12 runs from 4 overs. This is also a special victory as Chris is still in the U11 division.

In the fourth match, the boys played against Frank Roro Hub. Staats won the toss and chose to field first. The boys performed well, limiting Frank Roro Hub to 87 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

Daniel Feder was the best bowler for Staats, with 3 wickets for 15 runs from 4 overs. Ziyaad Fritz was the most economical bowler, bowling 4 overs for only 6 runs. The Staats boys delivered outstanding results reaching 89 for 3 wickets after only 13.2 overs. Daniel Feder was also the stand-out batsman, scoring 36 runs from 24 balls.

Coaches Rieyaard Alexander; JJ Gouws and De Wet Kruger are thanked for their hard work and determination in getting the boys ready for their matches.

The school thanks all the sponsors – Spur; Northern Cape High School and NTLO Signs – as well as SA Cricket president Rihan Richards, and members of the cricket union for support.
