Consider enrolling at a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College.

This is the message to the youth who passed Gr. 9, as well as those who have completed their Senior Certificate, but are still not in employment, education or training.

In August, while celebrating TVET month, the focus is on the vast variety of programmes and opportunities that exist at TVET Colleges, such as the Northern Cape Urban TVET (NCUTVET) College situated in Kimberley.

The main aim of TVET month is to demystify the mindsets of those who regard TVET College programmes as inferior.

Programmes at TVET Colleges offer post-school qualifications that can lead to successful careers in a variety of fields.

Through its skills and innovation centre, the college offers a variety of occupational programmes like learnerships and accredited skills programmes.

These occupational programmes also offer a solution to the skills gap in South Africa.
