For the first time, the Schweizer-Reneke Bowls Club was announced as the best club in the Intervaal sub-district.

This follows the sub-district’s main event on Saturday, 25 November, during which clubs competed for the title of best club.

This event was hosted at the Herotel Warrenton Bowls Club, with seven clubs taking part.

The clubs that competed are those from Bloemhof, Christiana, Hartswater, Hertzogville, Schweizer-Reneke, Warrenton, and Vryburg.

Two sides of each club, except Christiana and Hertzogville, played as combined teams and played four games in very hot summer conditions.

The combined scores of the sides determined the winners.

Schweizer-Reneke took top honors, skipped by Wimpie Viljoen (Protea player with a disability) and Nick McKenzie.

The final standings are Schweizer-Reneke in first place, Bloemhof second, Vryburg third, Warrenton fourth, Hartswater fifth, and Christiana and Hertzogville sixth.
