The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP) was announced as being the best performing park of the year at the 17th annual Kudu Awards ceremony of the South African National Parks (SANParks) held in Gauteng recently.
Hannes Heyns of the Augrabies Falls National Park was rewarded as the winner with the excellent performance in the workplace award, while Katrina Steenkamp of KTP was placed in the second place.
The Nossob Rest Camp in the KTP was rewarded as the best performing camp.
Hapiloe Sello, chief executive officer of SANParks, said an understanding and support for conservation is of vital importance to realise protection of the national parks through means supported by all stakeholders and communities.
He thanked the award receivers for their continued efforts in conservation.
