The Members of the Northern Cape High Rotary Interact committed to a variety of outreaches this year.

Debbie Smit said they raised and donated R12 370 to CANSA, and presented their own Relay for Life to celebrate the school’s teachers who survived cancer.

Also, they The group sponsored two matric learners’ farewells. Some of the other outreaches include the donating of groceries, nappies, blankets and cleaning products to Destiny House.

They bought Easter eggs for kids at the Greenpoint Crèche and had an Easter egg hunt with them. A soup kitchen was presented in Greenpoint, and they had cake and tea for Mother’s Day with the women at Ons Huis Old Age Home. They also raised and donated R4 000 to Ons Huis.

Another outreach was the collection, polishing and packaging boxing of school shoes which were donated to the Roodepan High School.

They held a Christmas outreach for to the Greenpoint Crèche during which 20 children received gifts of clothes and toys.

Smit says any learner can join the organisation from Gr. 8.
